Virtue of Sending Durood (Salawat)
Sending blessings upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a great act of worship. Allah commands the believers in the Qur'an (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56) to send blessings and peace upon the Prophet.
The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever sends one blessing upon him, Allah sends ten blessings upon that person (reported in Sahih Muslim).
Reciting Durood brings mercy, forgiveness, and closeness to Allah. It is especially recommended on Fridays and is a means of gaining great reward.
