The Incident of the Cave and the Rock

Three righteous men were traveling when heavy rain started. They took shelter in a cave. Suddenly, a big rock fell from the mountain and blocked the entrance of the cave.

They tried to move the rock but failed. Then they decided to pray to Allah by mentioning their sincere good deeds.

The first man prayed for his kindness and service to his parents. The rock moved a little.

The second man prayed for leaving a sin only out of fear of Allah. The rock moved further.

The third man prayed for his honesty and trustworthiness in returning a worker’s full wages. The rock moved completely, and all three men came out safely.

This incident shows that sincere good deeds made only for Allah’s pleasure bring help even in the hardest times.
