In this video we will show you approximately 350 years old but deserted "Dongi Sar Pond" which is an amazing and tremendous pattern of architecture. This pond was constructed by Rani Mungo, the Rani of Ghakars in the end of 17th century. Now this pond has been deserted and is presenting a view of ruins. Different traditions have been found in history. In ancient times, the Mughal Emperor stayed in this area during their journey when they have gone to Kashmir. It is possible this hostorical pond constructed by Mughals. This was the remains of Mughal Era because this type of pond is present inside the Pabbi Forest of Tehsil Kharian District Gujrat which was constructed by Mughals. These types of ponds are present approximately in every village of Potohar Region. Another tradition is that this old pond was constructed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was constructed a pond in Tilla Jogian in the beginning of 18th century so that the provision of supply of water remain maintain for Jogis. The pond of Tilla Jogian is sacred for Hindus and Sikhs. The construction style of this historical pond is same with the pond of Tilla Jogian. This type of pond is also present in Hiran Minar Sheikhupura but this is very big. Mughals and Ghakars occupied in this area a long time, Sikhs also ruled on Punjab but the historians agree that this old pond was constructed by Rani Mungo. Rani Mungo was known due to her welfare works. She completed a lot of construction. Rani Mungo became the ruler in 1674 after the death of her husband, Murad Quli Khan. She dressed up a royal in the era of Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb Aalmgir. Rani Mungo was the first lady of Gakhars who became the ruler. The capital of Rani Mungo was Dhan Gali. This is a historic place and history lovers must visit this place. This pond is situated in Dongi Village of Tehsil Sohawa District Jhelum.
