The Glen Campbell song Wichita Lineman played with just an acoustic guitar. It was written by the great Jimmy Webb and released by Glen in 1968. Jimmy also wrote two other hits for Glen, "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" and "Galveston". This song reached # 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in late Dec., 1968 and # 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Glen's 1st top 10 pop hit.
