The George Jones song He Stopped Loving Her Today played with just an acoustic guitar. The original was released in 1980 and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart on 7/5/80. He didn't want to record it initially, as he thought the song was too morbid and depressing when he first heard it in 1978. It became the song he's most known for and regarded as one of the greatest country songs ever.
