Mar'cuus Pet Battle Guide and Family Fighter Strategies

There are eighteen battle pet bosses on Argus in Patch 7.3. You are ONLY rewarded for fighting an Argus pet boss by doing its World Quest if said world quest is up. Outside of that, you may fight the Argus pet bosses as many times as you like (to work on your Family Fighter achievement, for example) but you won't be seeing pet supplies or any kind of reward from the battle. The Argus pet bosses do not have backline- you fight the one Legendary pet boss and that's it. They all have the Boss ability meaning they take 50% reduced damage and cannot be dealt more than 35% of their health in one hit. Also, the Mac'Aree pets all have Void Portal, which makes them incredibly irritating to fight.

Family Fighter is an achievement which requires beating each of the 18 Argus pet bosses with a family specific team of each type. Eighteen bosses and ten families (Beast, Aquatic, Critters, Elemental, Humanoid, Mechanical, Dragonkin, Flying, Magic and Undead) means you'll need to complete 180 pet battles in order to finish Family Fighter in 7.3 and earn your Felclaw Marsuul. The ten achievements you'll need to complete for your Family Fighter Meta Achievement are Beast Blitz, Aquatic Assault, Critical Critters, Elemental Escalation, Humanoid Havoc, Mechanical Melee, Draconic Destruction, Fierce Fliers, Magical Mayhem and Unstoppable Undead.

Mar'cuus Beast Strategy - for Beast Blitz Mar'cuus I use a Cheetah Cub with Screech, then Zandalari Anklrender and Kneebiter with Black Claw/Hunting Party.

Mar'cuus Aquatic Strategy - for Aquatic Assault Mar'cuus I use Spawn of G'nathus with Swallow You Whole and Thunderbolt, second is an Emperor Crab or Magical Crawdad with Surge and Whirlpool, and third is a Gulp Froglet with Swarm.
Mar'cuus Critter Strategy - for Critical Critters Mar'cuus I use three rabbits with 357 speed, set up with Flurry/Dodge/Stampede.

Mar'cuus Elemental Strategy - for Elemental Escalation Mar'cuus I use a Frigid Frostling or any Elemental pet with Surge, useing Surge. Second is a Tiny Twister with Wild Winds, Bash and Call Lightning and third is a Crazy Carrot with Ironbark and Blistering Cold. Your Tiny Twister must have more health than your carrot.

Mar'cuus Humanoid Strategy - for Humanoid Havoc Mar'cuus I used Squirky with Stampede and Bubble. Second I'm using an Ashleaf Spriteling with Poisoned Branch, Wild Magic and Entangling Roots. Third is a Thistleleaf Adventurer with Bite and Dazzling Dance.

Mar'cuus Mechanical Strategy - for Mechanical Melee Mar'cuus I use a Pocket Cannon but this could really be a whatever, it doesn't do anything. Second is a Draenei Micro Defender with Reflective Shield and Ion Cannon, and third is the Cogblade Raptor preferably with less health than the Micro Defender

Mar'cuus Dragonkin Strategy - for Draconic Destruction Mar'cuus I use Nether Faerie Dragon with Life exchange, Second is Chrominius with Howl and Surge of Power, and third is the Stormborne Whelpling with Call Lightning and Thunderbolt.

Mar'cuus Flying Strategy - for Fierce Fliers Mar'cuus I use Docile Skyfin with Wild Magic Predatory Strike, Ikky (Black Claw/Flock) and Pterrordax Hatchling with Slicing Wind.

Mar'cuus Magic Strategy - for Magical Mayhem Mar'cuus I use Sapphire Cub with Pounce/Screech, Extinguished Eye with Psychic Blast/Eyeblast/Interrupting Gaze, Netherspace Abyssal with Immolate, Explode, Meteor Strike.

Mar'cuus Undead Strategy - for Unstoppable Undead Mar'cuus I used a Ghastly Kid with Diseased Bite, Ethereal and Haunt. Second is Blightbreath with Toxic Smoke, and third is a Blighted Squirrel with Stampede.
