This little juniper was one of the very first trees I ever worked on—just a long whip in a five-gallon nursery can when I picked it up three years ago for about $100.
Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to add some world-class yamadori to my collection, but honestly… this might still be my favorite tree on the bench. It’s quietly marked my growth as an artist in a way none of my other trees have.
No matter the craft, I think it’s vital to keep evolving. To stay curious. To keep showing up.
