Video Overview
This lecture revisits constrained optimization, expanding on the ideas developed in unconstrained optimization. We introduce the Lagrangian function, which allows us to transform a constrained optimization problem into a min-max problem. The lecture then explores the duality between primal and dual problems, highlighting their properties and why solving the dual can sometimes be easier than tackling the primal directly. These concepts form the foundation for understanding how primal and dual solutions are connected and how they help in efficiently solving constrained optimization problems.
