This is what I got up to this week on my property in rural Victoria, Australia.
I being this week continuing to make evacuation preparations due to the bushfire threat during a series of hot and windy days. I keep the outer perimeter of the house damp - a means of trying to mitigate against ember strike - and the interior of the house cool, (without access to air-conditioning) on a day that reached close to 40c. The following day I head into town and bring home many of the items I will require for my planned lawnmower servicing as well as some bits and bobs for other minor household chores. I get around to planting my Christmas cumquat tree. I also get around to replacing the damaged flyscreen on my front door. I like easy jobs! Finally, I seize the opportunity to upgrade one of the cages around a young tree and make a couple of additional cages whilst also explaining why and how I do this!

All commercial products mentioned in this video were bought using my own money. My opinions of them are entirely my own and based on my experiences of using them. Unless you're Husqvarna offering me a free electric ride-on lawnmower, I'm not interested in sponsorships, collaborations or gifts.
I also posted photographs to: / having.a.small.time but I currently don't because I found it silly.

The Small Time acknowledges and pays respect to the Gunaikurnai Nation's people on whose Land I live and work. I recognise the significant role the past and future Elders play in the existence of The Small Time and the region. I am mindful that, since sovereignty was never ceded, the Land always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
