Goose Flies High is a 1938 Terrytoons animated short featuring Gandy Goose, one of the studio’s early cartoon characters created by Paul Terry. In this cartoon, Gandy dreams of becoming a pilot, but two sneaky wolves attempt to trick and capture him while he believes he is learning to fly. The short mixes slapstick gags with celebrity voice parodies popular in the late 1930s. Directed by John Foster and released on September 9, 1938, the cartoon was one of Gandy Goose’s earliest appearances during the Golden Age of animation when Terrytoons shorts were distributed to theaters by 20th Century Fox.
