KJörd - Half-Baked Alaska

Описание: Half-Baked Alaska is track 5 from the Tail Thyme EP and despite it being an EP I like to see this as the B-side. With having a total of 4 different versions of Tail Thyme and going for a 90's techno/breakbeat maxi-single/EP structure in terms of tracklisting, I wanted at least one completely different song. I had been watching a lot of classic Walter Lantz cartoons like Woody Woodpecker and Chilly Willy, and one of my favorite cartoons has always been the Chilly Willy short Half-Baked Alaska, and I wanted to pay homage to it with a song title. So with that, and it making sense to pair a video game character and a cartoon character together, Half-Baked Alaska came to fruition. I'm usually a pretty improv/jam based composer, and just start playing and see where my hands and he(art) takes me. Just like Tail Thyme, this song went through quite a few recordings as well, but not with as distinct differences. The main melody of the song ended up kind of playing to the beat of the main gag in the cartoon, and I really like the contrast of it with the later melody that goes up the fretboard.
