Should You Eat Carbs And Fats Together if you want to lose weight?
There is a theory not to combine your fats and carbohydrates together in one meal if your goal is weight loss.
The concept behind food combining for weight loss:
1- When you eat a large number of carbohydrates it will raise your insulin levels (insulin is a storage hormone).
2- Insulin will help store carbs (sugars) in your muscles and liver in the form of glycogen. However, it will also help you store proteins (synthesize proteins) and help store fat.
3- Therefore, if you eat high glycemic carbs (sugary carbs) combined with fat, the spike in insulin from the carbohydrates will contribute to you storing even more fat.
I mentioned in the video that I have not found a study to back up this concept. If you know of one, please post it in the comment section.
I'm going to experiment with not combining fats and carbs in the same meal for the next few weeks and see if it helps lower my body fat. I will report back in a few weeks.
