How to Stretch Watercolour Paper

This is the first stretching of a large piece of watercolour paper 240cm long by over 100cm high. It was attached using gum paper tape onto 9mm ply. It was a pretty involved process to wet the paper on both sides and then attach it. Next time I will do it with another person.

Any questions feel free to get in touch. It ended up not working particularly well, maybe because of the humidity or the age of the gum tape or my technique...I don't pre-stretch very often. I will do another video of the process I ended up using.

Rives BFK etching paper. Probably best to source this from your local store so you can look after the paper and not have it posted unless you are buying a large amount of paper and it will be looked after. There is nothing worse than getting hundreds of sheets all with a indent in them. Having said that you can actually source this paper from amazon:
