Italy is a country in Southern Europe, known for its rich history, art, culture, and cuisine. It is shaped like a boot and has a varied landscape, including mountains, coastlines, and rolling hills.
Rome, a city with a history spanning over 2,000 years, home to landmarks like the Colosseum, Vatican City, and the Sistine Chapel, is the capital of italy.
Italian food is world-famous, with dishes like pasta, pizza, and gelato being staples.
Italy is one of the most visited countries in the world, with famous sites like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Venice's canals, and the Amalfi Coast attracting millions of visitors annually.
We had 2 days visit to italy. Stayed in the cinque tere on first day along the coastline and on the second day in Venice.
We reached Milan from Belgium via flight and then reached cinque terre via train.
Milan, the capital of the Lombardy region in northern Italy, is a global hub for fashion, design, finance, and culture.
The Milan Cathedral, or Duomo di Milano, is an impressive Gothic cathedral that took nearly six centuries to complete. It's one of the largest churches in the world and offers stunning views of the city from its rooftop.
This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting, "The Last Supper."
Cinque Terre, located on the rugged coastline of the Italian Riviera in the Liguria region, consists of five picturesque villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Known for their colorful houses and stunning sea views, these villages are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area is famous for its hiking trails, such as the Sentiero Azzurro, and offers opportunities for exploring charming streets, enjoying local cuisine, and experiencing breathtaking landscapes.
Along with hiking you can explore the Villages. Monterosso al Mare, the largest village famous for its sandy beaches, historical sites, and seafood restaurants.
Vernazza is Known for its picturesque harbor and the Doria Castle.
Corniglia is the only village not directly on the water, accessible via a staircase of 382 steps or a shuttle.
Manarola is famous for its vineyards and beautiful sunset views. Riomaggiore, the southernmost village of Cinque Terre, is known for its steeply stacked colorful houses, scenic harbor, and charming narrow streets and the Via dell'Amore, Lovers' Path.
The easiest and most common way to travel between the villages. Regular trains run along the coast.
Late spring from May to June and early autumn from September to October, is the best time to visit here for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
Consider buying the Cinque Terre Card, which covers train travel between the villages and access to the hiking trails.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of Italy's most famous landmarks, is a freestanding bell tower of the cathedral in the city of Pisa, known for its unintended tilt.
Construction began in 1173 and completed in 1372. The tilt began during construction due to unstable foundation soil.
It's height is approximately 56 meters on the highest side.
Originally it was tilted at an angle of 5.5 degrees, but after restoration efforts, it now leans at about 3.97 degrees.
You can also Visit the Cathedral, Duomo di Pisa, which is adjacent to Pisa, with its stunning facade and intricate interiors, is a must-see.
