Today we continue The Bible in Chronological Order – Day 9, reading Job chapters 21 to 23 using the World English Bible (WEB).
In Job 21, Job confronts one of the hardest questions in Scripture:
Why do the wicked often live long, prosper, raise families, and die in peace?
He refuses simplistic answers and exposes the limits of religious formulas.
In Job 22, Eliphaz responds with certainty — not compassion.
He turns Job’s suffering into evidence and uses religion as an instrument of accusation, transforming pain into supposed proof of guilt.
In Job 23, Job does not walk away from God.
Instead, he searches for Him. He longs for an audience, for justice, for truth spoken face to face. Even when God feels hidden, Job declares:
“He knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I will come out like gold.”
