This talk takes you on a journey to overcome inhibitions to move creatively (VMove) or dance in public to increase physical activity, improve health, change social norms and activate a move-friendly world.

Esta charla te invita a superar las inhibiciones para moverte de maneras mucho más creativas (VMove), como bailar en público para aumentar tu actividad física, mejor tu salud, transformar normas sociales y crear un mundo mucho más activo.

Dr. Kaumudi Joshipura is the Director (NIH Endowed) of the Center for Clinical Research and Health Promotion at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, and an Adjunct Professor at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. She has a Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, and Master’s in Biostatistics from Harvard University.
She was born and raised in Mumbai, with very little accessible space, in a setting where most women rarely wore sneakers or exercised. She has experienced first-hand internal and external barriers to physical activity, and has cross-cultural experience with changing norms.
Her overall goal is to develop and promote integrative interventions, policies and programs that are cost-saving, free or low-cost, with potential benefit to all segments of society especially disadvantaged populations globally.
