Liam explains that he discovered BUas online while searching for tourism-related, service-related, and hospitality-related studies. Having lived in the Netherlands for six years previously, he was familiar with the society and support system, which made BUas an attractive choice for him. Liam emphasizes that he prefers practical and hands-on experiences over theoretical learning, as it better prepares him for the real world. He mentions that BUas is regarded as one of the top applied science universities in the Netherlands.

Liam highlights an interesting activity from his first year, where students went on a city trip to Maastricht to explore the city and played an interactive game to learn more about it. They had to create an itinerary for a specific persona based on their interests, values, hobbies, preferred environment, and accommodation. This assignment provided them with valuable experience in tour planning.

Liam offers advice to prospective students, recommending that they attend open days at the university to gain practical experience. He suggests enjoying a relaxing bike ride or walk to Mastbos, a nearby forest, as well as visiting the Hoge Vught Lakes for activities like ice skating during the winter. He also highlights the cultural and historical aspects of Breda, emphasizing its location and the opportunity to travel to other cities and countries such as Belgium and Germany. Liam suggests participating in the introduction journey, as it helps to form bonds with fellow classmates and bridge the gap between different cultures before starting the study program.
