A simple and delicious Coconut Chutney that pairs perfectly with South Indian breakfast favorites like idli, dosa, vada, and even tastes great with paratha or toasted bread.
This chutney is creamy, mildly spicy, and super easy to prepare at home with basic ingredients.

Serve fresh coconut chutney with:
• Idli
• Dosa

🥣 Ingredients
For Chutney
• Grated coconut – 2 cups
• Roasted channa dal – 2 tbsp
• Ginger – small piece
• Green chilli – 1
• Tamarind – small piece
• Green coriander – ½ cup
• Curd – ½ cup
• Salt – to taste
• Water – ¼ cup (adjust as needed)
For Tempering
• Oil – 1 tbsp
• Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
• Curry leaves – 6–7
👩🍳 How to Make Coconut Chutney
• Add grated coconut, roasted channa dal, ginger, green chilli, tamarind, green coriander, curd, salt, and water to a mixer jar.
• Grind to a slightly coarse paste. Add more water if needed to adjust consistency.
• Heat oil in a small pan for tempering.
• Add mustard seeds. Let the mustard seeds splutter.
• Add curry leaves, stir well, and turn off the heat.
• Pour the tempering over the chutney, mix gently, and serve fresh.

• For richer taste, use fresh coconut
• Avoid storing beyond 2 days
