Mini Hurdle Warm-up Progression to Improve Sprinting Form
1. Calf Hops
Purpose: Activate calf muscles and improve explosiveness.
How to Perform: Stand with feet hip-width apart. Hop forward on your toes, keeping your knees slightly bent. Focus on quick, light hops to engage the calves.
2. Single Leg Cycling Drill
Purpose: Enhance balance and strengthen hip flexors.
How to Perform: Stand on one leg and simulate a cycling motion with the opposite leg, driving the knee up and extending the leg back. Alternate legs after a set time.
3. High Knee Drill
Purpose: Improve knee drive and hip flexor mobility.
How to Perform: Jog in place or move forward, bringing your knees up to waist height. Focus on quick feet and maintaining an upright posture.
4. A-Skip
Purpose: Develop coordination and proper leg mechanics.
