Johann Mouse (1953) is the 75th theatrical short in the Tom and Jerry series, directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Set in 19th-century Vienna, the cartoon follows Johann Mouse (Jerry) who lives in the home of composer Johann Strauss. Whenever Strauss plays his waltzes on the piano, Johann is compelled to dance, much to the frustration of the house cat, Tom, who repeatedly attempts to catch him but always fails. When Strauss leaves on a journey, Tom seizes the opportunity to learn to play the piano using a tutorial titled "How to Play the Waltz in Six Easy Lessons." His newfound musical skills attract attention, leading to a performance before Emperor Franz Joseph I. The short is notable for its elegant animation and musical score, and it won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject: Cartoons in 1952, making it the seventh and final Oscar awarded to a Tom and Jerry short. #JohannMouse
