This is an extra part of the Hooked and Locked Crochet Along, or in short the HAL CAL, about the interlocking crochet technique. In this video of the practice piece I give some extra tips for weaving through the setup row of color 2 and crocheting row 1b. With these tips you can better identify which loops to crochet through and how to take you’re your work doesn’t shift, so that you keep working through the right squares. Watch the previous video first, because this is the sequel.
In the previous video’s I gave a short introduction about this CAL and how to do the setup and row 1.
Interlocking crochet is a technique that works with 2 layers of filet crochet, that get interwoven through each other during crocheting, which makes nice patterns, that sometimes look totally different on the other side.
For this practice piece, and for the large blanket, I used Alize Cotton Gold.
On my website you can find more information and also an extensive tutorial with a lot of pictures. Go to https://www.thecraftsteacher.com.
In the next video I show how to crochet row 2 of this practice piece.
