In this morning's sermon, Pastor Jonah Haze tackles the subject of the Rapture of the Church and the Second Coming of Christ. These two events are misunderstood and are often grouped together by unknowing people, even by many Believers, but they are not the same thing. The Rapture concerns Christ's promise in John chapter 14 to return for His bride, the Church, to take us to be with Him before the imminent wrath of God which will be poured out on an unrepentant world, the time known Biblically as the Tribulation. There are several places in Scripture which tell us we will not be subject to God's wrath, such as I Thessalonians 5:9 and Revelation 3:10. At the end of the prophesied seven year period, Christ Himself will return to the Earth to destroy the Antichrist and all those who took the Mark of the Beast, and who made war on Israel, His Chosen People, in another satanic attempt to annihilate them. At His actual Second Coming, the Lord Jesus will return once again to the Mount of Olives, to the same place where He ascended to Heaven nearly two thousand years ago as reported in Acts chapter one.
In today's main Scripture passage, the very words of Jesus Christ spell out for us the order of events soon to take place. Through the sign of Noah, He provides us with a vital clue which helps focus our attention on the characteristics which will be rampant throughout this last age. God once destroyed the world in a flood to wipe out the widespread violence and corruption that had consumed all flesh, except for the family of Noah, and those very same elements of violence and corruption would fill the Earth in the last days, causing God once again to pour out His wrath upon mankind. The satanic ideologies permeating our culture today have brought us to a place where everything that is good and moral and decent is despised, resulting in confusion among our people as to what is actually true, which in turn erupts in despicable acts of hatred and violence, as has been so recently witnessed throughout our schools and places of worship.
Here are the verses Pastor Jonah uses in his message: Matthew 24:36-44; 24:1-3, 24:4-14, 15-26, 27-31, 32-35; II Thessalonians 2:7-12; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Genesis 6:1-8, 11-13; I Thessalonians 5:9; Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8 and 10:9-10.
