I’m a huge fan of the Coral and I’ve been from the very start. For me, Dreaming of You is one of those songs  where I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard it, and it felt like my life was changing.

When I was at school, me and my friends absolutely loved music and watching MTV2. After school we all used to go round to each other’s houses and watch it and I remember the video for this song coming on and us all being blown away for many reasons.

What did it for me was the fact that there were lads on TV making incredible music and they dressed the same way that we did, and were riding round council estates on BMX‘s dicking about, again just like we did. And that’s before you get to the incredible music.

This song just grooves and I’ll never tire of hearing it. The Coral quickly became one of my favourite bands and I’ve loved everything they’ve ever done since. I even got to work for them for a short amount of time, and also tour Europe with them as a fan.

They are, for me (and this is a huge statement I know) the greatest band to ever come from Liverpool that aren’t called The Beatles. I love that city, and its music but the Coral stand above. This song is a great indicator of why. A stunning pop song written by a group of teenage lads on guitars and they’re all good mates. That’s what it’s all about.
