In northern Uganda, animal diseases, particularly tick infestations, pose a serious challenge to local livestock keepers. To address this urgent need, Jimmy Akena has launched a community service initiative to construct animal treatment centers. The first of these centers has been established in Akokoro, Apac District. Akena explains that livestock keepers in Akokoro face daily struggles, especially when it comes to treating tick infestations. The common method involves dipping animals in chemical solutions, but access to proper treatment facilities has been limited.
