In this long-form message, I’m talking about the brutal reality many mothers face: kids aligning with the powerful parent, loyalty being performed, cruelty being normalized, and adult children making choices that devastate the very mother who raised them. I also talk about the part nobody wants to admit—waiting for a Hallmark “aha moment” can keep you trapped in suffering for years, and you do not have unlimited time on this earth to spend your life begging people to see your goodness.
