I tried to DESTROY the SOG Voodoo Hawk Mini! Tactical Tomahawk at its best!

Описание: The SOG Voodoo Hawk Mini! SOGs answer for a combination tactical tomahawk and fast hawk. Smaller and more compact than its brother the Voodoo Hawk, it still brought performance and durability.

The experience I had using and throwing the Voodoo Hawk Mini was very good. First thing up is the weight. I was expecting this hawk originally to be lighter than it was but after using it for axe throwing, I really enjoyed the weight. It caused the Voodoo Hawk Mini to smash into the target with about two inches of penetration. I also felt the weight, compared to other tactical tomahawks, made the hawk fly a little better with very little wobble in the air.

The edge or bit quality was really good too with a decently sharp edge after a lot of axe throwing and abuse to the edge. The edge design from the factory is okay and its decently sharp but once I sharpened the edge to my liking and made the profile of the edge a bit more narrow, I felt it made a better tomahawk.

The glass filled nylon handle held up to hard axe throws and abuse. I think we can contribute that to the steel collar that surrounds the tomahawk handle in an area where tomahawk's, axes and hatchets with glass filled nylon handles without a full tang usually snap or break. The steel pommel cap at the knob is great reinforcement for knob strikes or if you need something for striking or beating. However some may find the pommel at the knob to be a bit large in circumference and the exposed bolt heads on either side off the knob can get a bit uncomfortable on the hands.

Overall I think the SOG Voodoo Hawk Mini performed really well for axe throwing and I can see where this would also work well for work, outdoors, backpacking, hiking, hunters or if you just want a throwing weapon. It exceeded my initial expectations for a SOG tactical tomahawk and that is totally okay with me!
