W tym rejonie Pomorza operowały oddziały radzieckie i polskie wchodzące w skład II Frontu Ukraińskiego. Gdańsk został ostatecznie wyzwolony 30 marca 1945 roku. Niestety miasto zostało doszczętnie zniszczone. Zburzeniu uległo aż 90% zabytkowego Śródmieścia. Połowa zniszczeń to skutek nalotów lotniczych w czasie wojny i ostrzału artyleryjskiego. Druga połowa zniszczeń to systematyczne burzenie miasta przez wojska sowieckie.

Einzigartige Fotos, die ersten Momente im befreiten Danzig. Die letzte Bilderserie besteht aus einigen Fotos, möglicherweise von der Familie des Fotografen. Vielleicht erkennt ja jemand die Personen auf diesen Aufnahmen?

In dieser Region Pommerns operierten sowjetische und polnische Truppen, die Teil der 2. Ukrainischen Front waren. Danzig wurde am 30. März 1945 endgültig befreit. Leider wurde die Stadt komplett zerstört. Bis zu 90 % des historischen Śródmieście wurden abgerissen. Die Hälfte der Schäden wurde durch Luftangriffe während des Krieges und Artilleriebeschuss verursacht. Die andere Hälfte der Zerstörung wurde durch die systematische Zerstörung der Stadt durch die sowjetische Armee verursacht.

Soviet and Polish troops, which were part of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, operated in this region of Pomerania. Gdańsk was finally liberated on March 30, 1945. Unfortunately, the city was completely destroyed. As much as 90% of the historic Śródmieście was demolished. Half of the damage was caused by air raids during the war and artillery fire. The other half of the destruction was caused by the systematic destruction of the city by the Soviet army.
