The Orangi Pilot Project, founded by the Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan in 1980, has served as a unique model of community-led development for over four decades - empowering people to solve their own civic issues, and giving them a seat at the table.
This video is part of a documentary series titled "The Cost of Water" - where we explore the situation of water availability in Orangi, the OPP's role in addressing the water crisis through the work of its late director, Perween Rahman, and the impact of her loss on the community.
