Dhotua dal is one of the most loved dishes in Himachal Pradesh. This dish is mostly popular in Mandi and Bilaspur districts during wedding, birthday and holy occasions.
It is made from Urad dal, ghee and Indian spices. It is served with Rice only.
Preparation for this dish takes around 2 hours also it is mostly prepared in heavy Kansa (Bronze) metal pot (handi) to maintain the aroma of spices and ghee.
