Strengthening the country’s clean energy expansion and promoting community-based renewable solutions, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inspects the Ning*Ning 6.55-megawatt peak (MWp) solar rooftop power facility at Pasinaya Homes Prime Central (PHPC) in Naic, Cavite on November 25, 2025.

This initiative supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Green Energy Auction Program (GEA-4), the Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) and the Sustainable Finance Framework, which incentivize long-term renewable energy supply contracts to foster cleaner, greener and more resilient communities nationwide.

Pioneered by the Joy~Nostalg Group — through its energy arm, Jin Navitas Solaris Inc. (SOLARIS), and its real estate arm, Raemulan Lands, Inc. (Extraordinary Enclaves) — Ning*Ning is the country's first grid-connected, utility-scale solar rooftop project within a socialized housing community. It ensures that community programs and social development initiatives effectively reach participating households.

The PHPC Project has a capacity of 6.554 MWp and uses the rooftops of 1,986 Filipino households, each with six (6) solar photovoltaic panels, totaling 11,916 panels. The electricity is converted to match the grid, transmitted and distributed by MERALCO, and is continuously monitored to ensure safe and reliable power delivery. The system has a net export capacity of 4.95 megawatts alternating current (MWac), generating approximately 9,182 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually — enough to power more than 7,900 homes.

Besides energy production, the project funds programs managed by the Joy~Nostalg Foundation, such as roof maintenance, street lighting, waste management, shared solar facilities and capacity-building initiatives for residents. Environmentally, it reduces 6,233 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year and preserves farmland by utilizing rooftops instead of open land.
