Описание: Senior Economic Officials from all Member States, including Marie Sherylyn D. Aquia, Director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Bureau of International Trade Relations (BITR) and the 2026 Chair of the ASEAN Senior Economic Officials’ Meeting (SEOM), convened on the second and final day of the ASEAN SEOM Retreat in Boracay, Aklan on December 11, 2025.

In an interview, 2026 SEOM Chair Aquia highlighted key Philippines’ Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) for 2026 anchored on five (5) Strategic Thrusts: Strengthening Trade and Investment Linkages, Accelerating Digital Transformation, Integrating ASEAN Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Agenda, Leveraging the Creative Economy and Innovation, and Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Economies. The PEDs aim to address regional needs, support inclusive growth, and deliver tangible benefits to ASEAN Member States and their people.

The Retreat also served as a strategic platform to review the progress of 2025 priorities and to prepare for 2026 — the first year of implementing the ASEAN Community Vision (ACV) 2045 and the ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2026–2030. Discussions covered post-2025 economic direction, external economic relations, regional trade initiatives for 2026, regional digital integration, competitiveness, and ASEAN’s internal strategy for global value chains.

Furthermore, the Retreat marked Timor-Leste’s first participation as ASEAN’s newest Member State, underscoring the region’s expanding membership and commitment to inclusive regional integration.

The Senior Economic Officials and members of the delegation also conveyed their appreciation for the Philippines’ successful hosting of ASEAN SEOM Retreat in Boracay.
