The Aeneid is an epic written by the Roman poet Virgil and is considered one of the greatest literary works ever written. In this episode, Aeneas returns with soldiers from various regions to face his rivals. At the start of the battle, Prince Pallas is killed by Turnus. Hera removes Turnus from the fight to prevent his certain death. Aeneas protects his camp and confronts Mezentius, who, after his son’s death, launches into a suicidal attack and is defeated by Aeneas. After the victory, the Trojans honor Mars, and the Latins request a truce to bury their dead. The Latin king suggests an alliance through the marriage of Aeneas to Princess Lavinia, but sentries warn that Aeneas is at the gates.
