The Aeneid is an epic written by the Roman poet Virgil and is considered one of the greatest literary works ever written. In the final episode of The Aeneid, Aeneas faces Turnus in a decisive duel to determine the future of Italy and his destiny as the leader of the Trojans. Both fight bravely, symbolizing the clash between divine will and human pride. When Turnus falls, he begs for his life, but Aeneas, recalling the death of his friend Pallas, denies mercy and kills him, sealing his fate and fulfilling the prophecy of founding a new nation.
