Catering Style Bhindi / Okra Fry | Crispy & Flavourful Okra Fry Recipe
Looking for a delicious, crispy, and perfectly spiced catering-style Bhindi Fry? Try this simple and tasty okra fry that brings together crunchy fried bhindi, nuts, and aromatic spices. Perfect as a side dish for rice, roti, or biryani!
Ingredients
For Coating & Frying Bhindi:
Fresh bhindi/okra – washed, wiped dry, and cut into pieces
2–3 tbsp besan (gram flour)
1 tbsp corn flour
Salt to taste
A pinch of garam masala
Shallow frying nuts :
2 tbsp groundnuts
2 tbsp cashews
Take a curry pan :
2–3 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
3 green chillies (slit)
Curry leaves – a handful
3 dry red chillies
1 large onion, finely chopped
A pinch of turmeric
Red chilli powder (as needed)
A pinch of garam masala
Grated coconut (for finishing)
Instructions
Take fresh bhindi, wash well and pat dry completely with a clean towel.
Cut into medium pieces. Add besan, corn flour, salt, and a pinch of garam masala. Coat well and set aside.
Heat oil in a kadai. Shallow fry groundnuts and set aside.
In the same oil, shallow fry cashews and keep aside.
Shallow fry the coated bhindi until crisp. Remove and set aside.
In a separate curry pan, heat 2–3 tbsp oil.
Add cumin seeds, slit green chillies, curry leaves, and dry red chillies. Sauté.
Add finely chopped onion and fry until light golden.
Add a pinch of turmeric.
Add the fried bhindi, salt, red chilli powder, and a pinch of garam masala. Mix gently.
Finally, add grated coconut and mix well.
Serve hot and enjoy the catering-style crispy bhindi fry!
