Manual pelvic floor release is often recommended for people with endometriosis and pelvic pain. For some, it can be helpful. But for others, it can trigger pain flares or leave symptoms feeling worse rather than better.
In this episode, I unpack why that can happen.
We explore:
The role of the nervous system in pelvic floor tightness and pain
Why highly sensitised systems can respond poorly to touch, even when techniques are gentle
How chronic pain, inflammation, and unpredictability shape the body’s protective responses
Why timing and entry point matter when it comes to pelvic floor release
What it can look like to approach pelvic floor relaxation without touch
This episode builds on the previous conversations in the series, particularly around pelvic floor tightness as a response rather than a standalone problem, and explains why some bodies need a different starting point.
