Bashgram: India’s First Bamboo Village and Eco-Resort documents a pioneering eco-tourism initiative in Tripura that brings together sustainable architecture, community livelihoods, and environmental regeneration. Built entirely from bamboo, the resort showcases 14 different bamboo varieties, tracing their journey from processing to execution across the site’s infrastructure.

Once a nine-acre stretch of barren land, Bashgram has evolved into a thriving bamboo village and eco-tourism destination. Through the voices of local workers, bamboo artisans, and staff across its various departments, the film highlights how the initiative has generated employment, strengthened the local economy, and revived traditional bamboo craftsmanship. By demonstrating how human enterprise can grow alongside nature, the film positions Bashgram as a living model for sustainable development and the future of Tripura’s bamboo industries.

Green Hub Project is a video fellowship that empowers and engages youth especially from indigenous and marginalized communities and disadvantaged backgrounds in conservation action and social change.
