Join me on one of the most extreme off-road adventures I’ve ever taken — all the way to the world’s highest natural cricket stadium, hidden in the majestic Nagar Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, under the shadows of the mighty Rakaposhi and Diran Peaks.
Our day began at the Rakaposhi View Point Hotel in Ghulmet, and from there we rode up to Hapakun Kho (approx. 12,000 ft) — a scenic lookout offering breathtaking views of Rakaposhi.
From there, the real challenge began. We started a crazy off-road descent to Pissan on my trusty Tekken 250cc "Road Wolf" motorbike. The trail was so extreme that the top box of my bike fell off mid-ride, tumbling down the rocky path. Big shoutout to my biker buddy Ayyan, who retrieved it, and I reinstalled it with screws firmly tightened — all part of the adventure!
Before reaching Pissan Bazar, I spotted a lone foreign explorer (possibly from France or Spain) walking the rugged track. I offered him a lift on my Road Wolf and dropped him at a junction from where our path diverged toward the stadium.
The ascent from Pissan to the stadium was no less difficult — about 1.5 km of steep, rocky drive, pushing both machine and rider to the limit. But the reward was surreal.
At about 8,500 ft above sea level, we arrived at the Pissan Natural Cricket Stadium, highlighted in 2021 by a local journalist. This is not a man-made or constructed stadium — it is entirely naturally shaped, with a near-perfect outfield and pitch, cradled between sky-touching peaks. The temperature here in summer hovers between 20–25°C, making it an ideal spot for cricket and adventure lovers alike.
Standing in the middle of this natural ground with Rakaposhi and Diran towering above, I was left speechless by the raw beauty of this hidden gem. It's hard to believe such a stadium even exists! No wonders, there was livestock wandering around as well as some tents and other basic facilities were also available.
We were delayed because one of our fellow bikers went off for a trek — so we stayed until almost sunset. That meant our return to Ghulmet was in pitch black darkness, riding down those same treacherous off-road paths, guided only by bike lights and adrenaline. My heart was pounding every second of that return ride.
By the grace of God, we made it back to our hotel safe but completely exhausted. This was more than just a trip — it was a test of endurance, brotherhood, and passion for adventure.
