Welcome to Part-02 of my thrilling journey from Gilgit to the magical Naltar Valley! 🚵‍♂️🌲 This leg of the adventure picks up as I rejoin the iconic Karakoram Highway after navigating multiple detours due to roadblocks in Gilgit city. Crossing the mighty River Indus was a moment to remember — the power of nature never fails to amaze!

Our first stop was Nomal, a peaceful little town just a few kilometers from our starting point. Here, I witnessed pure joy — local youngsters splashing in swimming pools, children playing under the open sky, and families enjoying the day. I’ve highlighted the facilities available in Nomal, including freshwater showers, shaded sitting areas, and tea/coffee cafes – a perfect refreshing halt for any traveler.

As we continued along the scenic Gilgit–Naltar Road, fruit trees lined the way, adding to the valley’s charm.

"The highlight? A young guy on an electric bike, casually enjoying ice cream — and guess what? His e-bike cost only Rs. 15,000! Mind blown!"

A surprise meeting with a friendly group of news reporters from Kamalia, Punjab, at the army check post added warmth to the day. Their stories and enthusiasm were truly inspiring!

We also passed a zip line facility and a roaring mountain stream (nallah) that runs parallel to the road — nature’s soundtrack to our journey.

By Zero Point, the paved road ended and the real off-road adventure began. We safely stored our luggage with a kind local shopkeeper, planning to visit Naltar Lakes. But with the sun setting and exhaustion catching up, we postponed the lake visit for the next day.
