Описание: A colorimeter is an analytical instrument used to measure the absorbance or transmittance of light by a colored solution at a specific wavelength. It works on the principle of Beer-Lambert’s law, which states that the absorbance of light is directly proportional to the concentration of the solute and the path length of the light through the solution. A colorimeter consists of a light source, a monochromatic filter, a cuvette to hold the sample, and a photoelectric detector that measures the intensity of transmitted light. The difference between the intensity of incident and transmitted light gives the absorbance value, which can be used to determine the concentration of the unknown solution. Colorimeters are widely used in biochemistry, clinical laboratories, environmental testing, and food industries for quantitative analysis of compounds that form colored solutions.
