What happens when you combine the worlds of art and science?
UCalgary and the Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) have come together to introduce Calgarians to the work of Faculty of Science researchers through the two-dimensional artwork of AUA students. The Art of Science window project consists of 18 artistic representations of scientific research at UCalgary, painted on windows around Calgary’s downtown core as part of Chinook Blast 2021.
Featuring one of the participating artists, Mike Hooves, and guided by Christine Sharp, Strategic Partnership Specialist in the Faculty of Science. She speaks about the collaboration as well as the influence science and art can have when brought together.
