Sweet and Sour Chicken Recipe:
To Coat and Deep Fry:
Chicken Boneless - 1 kg
Salt - 1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ½ tsp
Maida - 3 tbsp
Cornflour - 3 tbsp
Egg - 1 no
Lemon Juice - ½ no
Water - ½ Cup
Sauce:
Tomato Ketchup - ½ Cup
Soy Sauce - 1½ tbsp
Brown Sugar - 2 tsp
Vinegar - 2 tbsp
Other Ingredients:
Oil - 2 tbps
Ginger (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Garlic (finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
Onion (diced) - 1 no
Bell Peppers (diced) - ½ Cup
Spring Onions (chopped) - For Garnish
Toasted Sesame Seeds - For Garnish
Cooking Instructions:
1. To the chicken, mix the remaining ingredients required to coat and mix it well till it is combined evenly
2. Heat oil in a kadai and fry the chicken to a golden brown colour on a medium flame.
3. Mix the ingredients required for the sauce in a bowl and keep it aside.
4. Heat a wok, add oil. Add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for a few seconds
5. Add the diced onions and bell peppers and saute on a high flame for 10-15 seconds.
6. Add the chicken and toss it with the onions and bell peppers on a high flame.
7. Add the sauce and toss well till the chicken is coated evenly with the sauce.
8. Transfer it to a bowl. Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
