And, yet, disjunctive, harmful cultural mindsets (e.g., addiction is a disease) can be among the most powerful negative factors in our lives and worlds.
Ironically, this tendency to believe the cultural world around you is the only reality sometimes besets psychologists and others whose own research proves that the way we conceive a problem determines it’s outcome. As a result, they may accept cultural assumptions that their own work has disproved.
