I’ve been training consistently in bjj since 2011, then took a long break around April 20 20. During that break, I was having Terrible back pain because I was doing 90 min deep tissue massages back to back, frequently until finally one day my back gave out. I went to the chiropractor, he told me that I have severe scoliosis, that started roughly 8 or 9 years, prior, which is roughly when I started to get very good at #grappling . I went through months of excruciating 😖 chiropractic adjustments starting at 3 days a week. It was recommended that I don’t do certain activities and I chose to carefully start slowly at strengthening my body, I continue to do that and I continue to gain strength and have way less pain. So this time in bjj I will be taking a more cautious approach haha I love the fundamentals class because they teach the moves slowly, which in turn helps my body to get used to moving again, because of that, I am now stronger and more fluid and flexible then I was the previous class!
