Young Boy Suffers Brain Injury After Encounter With Vigilantes

Описание: A vegetable seller came to the studio with her son to seek justice after a painful incident involving some vigilantes.

According to the mother, she usually goes out very early in the morning to buy vegetables and take them to the market. One day, she asked her son to assist her. On his way back home that morning, he reportedly encountered some vigilantes who flashed a torchlight directly into his face. When the young boy asked them why they were flashing the light in his eyes, the situation reportedly turned violent.

The mother explained that the vigilantes allegedly hit her son on the head with a gora stick, causing a severe head injury that affected his brain. Since the incident, the boy has been suffering from seizures and has lost movement in his right hand and right leg.

She also revealed that the family has spent hundreds of thousands of naira on medical treatment in an effort to help him recover. Doctors reportedly told them he must continue taking a special medication that costs about ₦40,000 every three months to control the seizures.

The mother says that despite the seriousness of the attack, nothing has been done so far about the vigilantes involved. She is now calling for justice for her son.

After hearing the story, the Ordinary President of Brekete Family provided financial assistance to cover the cost of two years of the boy’s medication and promised that efforts will be made to ensure justice is pursued in the matter.
