Suspended NRS Staff Alleges Unfair Treatment Over NYSC Certificate

Описание: A man from Cross River State has brought a complaint against the Federal Inland Revenue Service (now known as the Nigerian Revenue Service, NRS).

According to him, he was offered an appointment in 2018 and was officially confirmed in 2019 after due clearance, including screening by the Department of State Services (DSS). He said he carried out his duties with the agency until 2022, when he and some colleagues were suspended.

The reason reportedly cited for their suspension was the use of an Exclusion Certificate from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

However, he alleges that while some affected staff members were quietly recalled to work, a few of them remained suspended. He said they have been seeking reinstatement since 2022.

According to his claim, in 2024 they discovered that their files had allegedly been forwarded to the Federal Ministry of Finance with a recommendation to terminate their appointments.

He is now calling for a review of the decision, insisting that due process was followed during his recruitment and confirmation.
