Couch to 5K Workout, This Beginner Running Strength & Conditioning is a workout from the Never Train Alone series — built to prepare your body for running before the miles beat you up.
This session strengthens every muscle used in a run:
calves, glutes, quads, hips, core, and ankles — while improving coordination, rhythm, and confidence.
Perfect if you’re:
• starting running from scratch
• returning after time off
• building strength alongside a Couch to 5K plan
• wanting a no-equipment, at-home running workout
Workout Format:
⏱ 30 seconds per movement
🔁 Alternating between activation + running patterns
The Session:
• A Skips
• Run on the Spot
• Squat Jump Forward → Run Back
• Run on the Spot
• Back Lunge into High Knee
• Run on the Spot
• Squat to High Knee
• Run on the Spot
• Glute Bridge High Knees
• Run on the Spot
• Skipping
• Run on the Spot
• Side Hops (Double) → Side Run
• Run on the Spot
• Calf Raises
• Run on the Spot
