Beyond Crystal Mill: Lost Trail Road and the Lead King Basin of Colorado

Описание: The Crystal Mill is one of the most photographed locations in Colorado, and the adventure to reach it is worth the drive. But what then? After you spend your time gawking at the ruins along a tumbling waterfall, will you go back the way you came, or try something different? We chose to leave Crystal to the east, and drive up the Lost Trail Road through Lead King Basin. This trail may not be nearly as well known as the more direct route to Crystal, and maybe we just need to keep it that way. But this trail has shelf roads, dispersed camping, mountain views for miles, and a wooded glade complete with countless waterfalls. Don't forget to stop at the Marble Mill ruins before you leave Marble behind.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon driven by Taylor and Tristan was rented from Peak Overland Rentals. Peak Overland was awesome: when Taylor's overland Turo reservation significantly changed their build to be virtually useless only a few weeks before our trip, Peak Overland stepped in and found a Bronco for Taylor and Tristan. And when that Bronco turned up with damage after another rental, Peak Overland found this Wrangler.
