According to the wife, her husband—identified as Gurpreet Singh, a Home Guard employee—has a history of controversial relationships. She alleged that this is his second marriage and claimed that he had previously been involved with women in Dubai and Abohar, leading to multiple disputes. The confrontation at the PG turned dramatic as heated arguments broke out, forcing locals to inform the police.

What made the situation even more shocking was that the woman found with Gurpreet Singh was reportedly wearing bridal bangles (choora), indicating that she is already married. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the woman had a love marriage with another man. Police have informed her husband, who is reportedly on his way to the scene.

Station House Officer Rakesh Kumar confirmed that Gurpreet Singh claimed he is currently undergoing divorce proceedings with his wife and stated that the woman had only come to meet him. However, both parties have presented conflicting statements, and the matter is now under investigation.

There were also allegations that a video recorded during the confrontation was deleted by police officials. The Station In-Charge clarified that a fair investigation is being conducted, statements from both sides are being recorded, and appropriate legal action will follow based on evidence.

This incident comes just two days after a similar controversy surfaced in the western constituency of Jalandhar, raising serious questions about repeated relationship scandals in the region.
