Описание: A tragic and shocking road accident has taken place on the elevated road at Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana’s Dhiyana area, claiming the lives of two people and leaving one seriously injured. The devastating crash occurred on Friday morning and is believed to have been caused by overspeeding.

According to eyewitnesses, three college students were traveling in a Swift car towards Tharike from Bharat Nagar Chowk. The car was reportedly moving at a very high speed when it suddenly went out of control near the Veterinary Hospital on the elevated road. The vehicle first hit the divider with massive impact and then jumped to the opposite side, colliding head-on with a motorcycle rider coming from the other direction.

In this heartbreaking accident, 42-year-old Jagdish Kumar, who worked as a courier delivery worker, lost his life. He was returning home after dropping his children at school when the speeding car struck his motorcycle. He was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The driver of the Swift car, Gauransh, a journalism student, also succumbed to his injuries. He and another youth, Charanjot, were seated in the front seats and suffered severe injuries due to the strong collision. Charanjot is currently admitted in critical condition at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC Hospital), where doctors are providing treatment.

This tragic incident has left two families shattered. Jagdish Kumar was the sole breadwinner of his family, leaving behind his wife and two young children. On the other hand, Gauransh belonged to a respected family; his father runs a factory, and his mother is a homemaker. What was supposed to be a regular college day turned into a nightmare.

Locals claimed that despite informing authorities, police response was delayed, and civilians rushed the injured to the hospital themselves. Doctors declared Jagdish Kumar and Gauransh brought dead. Their bodies have been kept in the mortuary and will be sent for post-mortem examination at the civil hospital.

Police have started an investigation into the matter, and overspeeding is currently being considered the primary cause of the accident.

This heartbreaking road tragedy once again raises serious concerns about reckless driving and road safety on elevated roads in Punjab.
