This is a compilation I had planned on making for a while but when I saw Coffin Master was going to be added to Qinghe I decided to hold off on it until I did his fight. There are 14 bosses in the Qinghe region so some astute viewers who know this are probably wondering “why is one missing?” Well that’s because screw trying to no damage Sleeping Daoist. Qinghe has some great bosses, with Qianye and Tian Ying still being my favorites in the game but frankly Sleeping Doaist is easily the worst boss in the game. I have attempted to do no damage runs on him and I cannot bring myself to suffer through the monotonous misery of parrying projectiles the entire time, ones that are hard to see too. Even if I can’t title this “every Qinghe Boss No Hit” I’m super content with being able to do 13/14 with Mo Blade! Before I go into more detail about this compilation here are the timestamps for those interested
0:00 Heartseeker
01:40 Ye Wanshan
03:56 Void King
05:47 Lucky Seventeen
08:49 Puppeteer Overture
10:34 Puppeteer Curtaincall
13:41 Dalang
15:12 Snake Doctor
17:23 Earth Fiend Deity
19:01 Coffin Master
21:48 Yi Dao
24:05 Qianye
28:23 Tian Ying
So first, why the commitment to Mo Blade? Well this is a weapon I was off and on with for a while the beginning hours of the game. I found it great for open world mobs because of the crowd control skill but after using it more on bosses I gained some newfound appreciation for its playstyle and the bigger skill curve trying to weave attacks in between combos. I think many people who play Mo Blade feel they can only reliably do damage during executions but I feel like this compilation right here proves that is not the case at all. While it may be harder to get stage 3 charged heavy attacks, there are plenty of opportunities to use the charged light attacks which I think people may sleep on. Also, while Mo Blade is undeniably the slowest weapon in the game there is one thing that can make it feel “faster”; animation canceling. Honestly, I think animation canceling is essential to the Mo Blade playstyle as it allows you to cancel the slow recovery times of its attacks by deflecting. This also helps if you overcommit to a Mo Blade charge attack right before you need to parry.
Another trait of the Mo Blade, specifically the fully charged heavy is the “flatten” effect. Most bosses can be pancaked to the ground even if they are getting ready to do a combo, allowing an opportunity to deal more damage or a safe heal and buff. The Honking Havoc Mystic Skill synergizes incredibly well with this as it gives you a free fully charged R2 window to pile on massive damage.
So for the compilation itself I want to mention that many of these fights were recorded on the 1.0 version of the game before Mo Blade got some pretty massive buffs. Another thing about this compilation is outside of the bosses I decided not to post individually there aren’t any “new” ones here. For those curious about what new fights are here they are Heartseeker, Ye Wanshan, Void King, Dalang, Earth Fiend Deity and Yi Dao. Finally I want to say that the reason some bosses don’t show the check for no damage is because some of them I had already done before. This was mainly the early bosses but they were with Nameless Sword and that was before I committed to the way of the Mo Blade. Tian Ying I had no damaged once before but not hit hit so I did him again.
If anyone is interested in knowing more about my thoughts on certain bosses from a no hit perspective I can share them but if I did it here I would hit the character cap on the description lol. But I will say the top 3 hardest bosses to No Hit were Qianye, Tian Ying and Yi Dao.
